| Abstract | The challenge of manufacturing companies to meet growing customer requirements in global markets leads away from single directed optimization measures and traditional corporate structures. As a central approach to increase competitiveness integrated production systems have proved their benefits in practice. To successfully implement these systems, it is necessary to adapt their design and methods to the specific situation and requirements of a company. This thesis develops a new approach to configure integrated production systems for small and medium sized contract manufactures. The primary goal of this research is to extend theories of lean production and integrated production systems to all departments of a company and to take requirements of small-batch production into account. Die Herausforderung produzierender Unternehmen, wachsenden Kundenanforderungen in globalisierten Märkten gerecht zu werden, führt zu einer Abkehr von partiellen Optimierungsmaßnahmen und althergebrachten Unternehmensstrukturen. Als zentrales Element zur Steigerung der Wettbewerbsfähigkeit haben sich in der betrieblichen Praxis Ganzheitliche Produktionssysteme etabliert. Zentrale Herausforderung für das eigenständige Einführen und Anwenden Ganzheitlicher Produktionssysteme besteht darin, den Ansatz umfassend zu überblicken und eine geeignete Konzeption für das eigene Unternehmen sicherzustellen. Um Ganzheitliche Produktionssysteme als Optimierungsansatz für Lohn- und Auftragsfertigungsbetriebe zugänglich zu machen und einen Beitrag zur Wettbewerbssicherung dieser Branche zu leisten, verfolgt diese Dissertation das Ziel, ein Modell zur umfassenden Konfiguration Ganzheitlicher Produktionssysteme für kleine und mittlere Lohn- und Auftragsfertigungsbetriebe im Bereich der Herstellung von Metallerzeugnissen zu entwickeln. |
